BURNTISLAND BURGH BUZZ

Welcome to the Home page of the Burgh Buzz, Burntisland's Community newspaper which is published under the auspices of the Burntisland Community Council.

The Buzz is produced and distributed by volunteers for the information and enjoyment of the residents, former residents and visitors to Burntisland, the picturesque seaside town which lies on the south coast of Fife.

The principal aims of the Buzz are to promote community spirit, stimulate interest and debate on local issues, and to provide a free means of communication for local people and community organisations.

The paper is produced in A4 size, normally consists of 24 pages and appears four times a year. It is non profit making with the costs of printing, prizes for competitions and incidental expenses covered by advertising revenue and donations from local businesses. Each issue has a print run of 3,500 copies. Individual copies are hand delivered free to all 3,000 households of Burntisland by a posse of volunteers. Other printed copies are available in local libraries, clubs and businesses and new and past issues appear in full colour on this web-site.

The Buzz is compiled by a small editorial team which reports on significant local events and coordinates contributions from local service and youth organisations, churches, current and former residents. The team aims to cater for all age groups and all sections of the community and has been boosted by senior pupils from Balwearie High School.
